Today April 15, second Sunday after the resurrection would just be any other Sunday. Fr. Ging our mass presider was about through reading the gospel of the day when I was also about to close my eyes, not because I don't want to hear the word of God but because a family of four 'heavy weights or over weights' seated in front o me turned on the heavy duty electric fan in front of us in full speed that brought furious lash into my eyes that I had to close for some time.
"Oo.. I also felt sleepy because of the fan."said the old man beside me. "No kidding, I closed my eyes during the mass because I want to reflect on the real meaning of the word of God." the other said. But some others say they are lullabyed by the voice of God that they closed their eyes.
But me? its the electric fan.

Father Ging's /homily
Fr. Ging's homily was about Christ resurrection and the doubting Thomases. And that he made my old memories came back in rush. His story was about the old man in the village who all his neighbors love to hate, a trouble maker of sort. They always see him angry at the slightest thing that is not his way. He is the enemy of all. 'The angry man' the say.
One day, he was convinced with his wife to join the Marriage Encounter Seminar in Tagaytay, thanks to the efforts of some church people. It was a big twist of events. On the second day of the seminar the old man started to discover that something was really wrong with him because he knew all his neighbors kept away from him all the time. Not long after as the seminar presider led a praying over the old man wept and was wiping tears on his face and managed uncontrollable sobs that other attendees laid their hands on him too.
At the end of the day when the seminar was over everyone was all smiles and looked happy and renewed, born again as they say. The first thing the old man did as they went back home, he put up a signboard hanged it in his front gate for everyone to see, which reads: "The old man your former neighbor is no longer here he is dead and was buried."
The old man indeed now was a model of good behavior in his village.
'When I said my memories came back in rush its because me and my wife were once active members of the Marriage Encounter Community in Pasig as Chair couple that we were able to hold or conduct 25 classes who also became active members as they graduated. And the story of Fr. Ging is our true and real experience.'
Anyway,as to whether or not I closed my eyes, let me go back to the story of Fr. Ging, the old man.
As expected there were doubting Thomases and they won't believe the signboard of the old man that they say "O ngayon lang yan tingnan natin ilang araw" ' O its good only for one day lets watch the next days'. After a week the neighbors added another signboard below the first which reads: After three days he rose again.
