A recent statistical study in America revealed that one in four Americans has mental disability. However we call it, mental disorder, mental illness, mentally sick the figure seemed to bring some unwanted concerns. Former President Bill Clinton said, being mentally sick is nothing to be ashamed of. And these reports prompted one Filipino - American to say, " Here in America, if you have three friends and they are all okay you have to look at yourself in front of a big mirror."
Americans avoid the use of the words mentally ill and choose some other words, if only to moderate or bring down the stigma and bias and minimize the effects.
Nevertheless, if the Americans are in a four cornered matching, can the Filipinos be far behind? considering almost majority of Pinoys love American lifestyle and culture, not excluding myself who love the English language 'they say Englishiro' who even want to out-English the real English man. Yes I maybe a fool, because I also enjoy fooling around, But I am not mentally ill because I cannot find three of my best friends to know if they are all okay.
