Since day one of Noynoy's coming into office as the new head of state Corona had already become a potential and formidable enemy to him. He objected and refused to recognize Corona's appointment as chief justice of the Supreme Court, but the high tribunal just the same approved the legality of Corona's appointment. In time Noynoy's expectations came sooner than he feared. His first big act in office creating the Truth Commission to investgate corruption in the past administration was overturned by the highest court so fast that Noynoy was still putting on his pants and only to find his big act was rejected by the high court. Then Hacienda Luisita, an estate bigger than Makati city owned by the family and relatives of Noynoy Aquino was finally resolved by the high tribunal to be given to farm-workers.
Then the Supreme Court issued a TRO lifting the travel ban issued by Malacanang against Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
The Executive and the Judiciary are co-equals as far as government powers are concerned. Consequently Malacanang ignored the High Court ruling and went on with the travel ban against Gloria Arroyo that led to her eventual arrest and detention. In the most recent event President Noynoy blasted Chief Justice Corona during a forum, National Crininal Justice Summit held at the historic Manila Hotel in the presence of many judicial officials, lawyers and even foreign ambassadors as guests. After the blast Corona who was just a few meters away from Noynoy just managed a seemingly friendly smile and said,"Its Christmas time let us talk peace." There is a saying "Never sink into the levels of your enemy, just smile and your smile will make him insane."
In the coming days the Filipinos can expect more intensive and ferocious exchange of blows that can be even more exciting than the coming Pacman-Mayweather fight.
Anyway, who really is the enemy? Is Corona the enemy of Noynoy or is Noynoy the enemy of Corona? Cnfused again? Relax and breath easy.
PEACE BE ON EARTH.
