world population,7 billion who are we to believe?

         World Population, 7 billion vs Vicente Sotto


     Very recently the world population reached 7 billion.  United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon warned "As the world population passes 7 billion alarm bells are ringing."
     Yet, who are we to believe the UN or Vicente Sotto? Very firmly Sotto said, " the Department of Health and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) just created a media hype to give an impression that the world is already over populated."  Vicente Sotto, a born comedian and a motley fool doubling as a senator versus the UN a world body.  Who are we to believe?  "Text po nyo" as the popular radio anchor would say.


    Let me tell you a story about a man a devout religious who died in the flood at the height of typhoon  Ondoy.  At that time when the flood was abnormally rising the man was praying hard to the Virgin Mother of God that he maybe saved.  He saw around him rubber boats, the Coast Guards and even a helicopter above convincing him to come up to safer ground. He refused them because he knew the Virgin Mother of God will save him.  The bad news he died.   In heaven the man went to the office of the Virgin Mother of God, crying. "Mama Mary you promised me that if I pray to you I will be saved."   "My son I know you are not a joker much less a motley fool.  I have sent you rubber boats, the Coast Guards and even helicopter to fetch you but you did not believe them, now you can get out of my office and go to St Peter he will find a place for you." replied the Virgin Mother of God in a very soft and motherly voice.   Who are we to believe?  If still in doubt, lets talk about doubt next time.
