My tribute to the dead.
In my country many people say, it is dangerous and unsafe to live in the Philippines. Dangerous and unsafe, maybe because of crimes, the weather, natural disasters or even dengue fever. But and so is Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, America, Europe, China and the whole world. Our world is so full of dangers and hazards that no one ever got out alive. And this has been since the beginning of time.
This day October 31st is the beginning of the three days when we remember and honor our dead. Halloween (All- Hallows Eve) as they said. Halloween was not originally intended to remember the dead. The Celtics tribe in Europe in the early days marked this time of year as the end of summer and the beginning of the dark days of winter when human deaths were widespread. At that time they built big bonfires and even burned some of their crops and animals as sacrifices to drive away the evil spirits.
In the 8th century Pope Gregory III assigned November 1st as the day to remember all the Saints and the Martyrs who died for the church and Christianity, that eventually became a yearly celebration. But with this annual celebration were incorporated many of the traditional practices of the Celtics, like building bonfires were people danced around wearing their Halloween costumes.
Be all these as it may, this is the Grand Plan of our Creator, My God, your God, our God. So do not fear or be afraid of dangers or death. It is always better to face danger as the come than postpone it at a latter time and keep your fears within you. There is no such thing as a safe and secure place to live. Security and safety like superstitions do not exist.
So this day be happy you are still alive. Smile, and make your day a little easier.
And always remember none of us can get out of this world alive.
