Philippine bishop struck the nail right on the head

"Those who set their hearts on the plow cannot keep looking back."
All the seven bishops who were involved in the embarrasing pajero imbroglio in the Philippines have done their piece. They all said 'mea culpa'  accepted their mistakes, misjudgements and conveyed their apologies to the faithfuls, but they also justified their acts to help those truly in need in their areas and honestly defended the uprightness of the church.  Well said.   But one bishop said it differently,  bishop Soc Villegas of Pangasinan struck the nail right on the head.  Yes right on the head of the leadership. " It is not enough that the president live a clean life backed by his integrity alone." said bishop Soc.  He must have the vision of the future for without vision of the future is treachery to the governed.  A good leader must aim to unite all his people including his past enemies.  That it is not good for him to embrace some and alienate others.  This will be divissive that might ultimately bring disunity.  If it was his promise during his election campaign to punish all past wrongdoings, then let it be, but it must be in the pusuit of justice and fairness and not revenge or mere show of his "daang matuwid" path of rightiousness.
Those who have set their hearts on the plow cannot keep looking back said bishop Soc. It is not my intention to make fun of the president but may I say it anyway that the president may not have seen a real plow that which is hard to believe because his family owns Luisita that the farmers are plowing all day long for decades and still end up this days as mere poor farmers.  Anyway let us go back on the words of bishop Soc.  It is real difficult for the president to set his heart and hands on the plow because he would have to melt his shooting guns and covert them into plows.  When his heart and hands are not on the plow it would be easier for him to keep on looking back particularly on the sins of the past maybe, if only to justify his poor performance and low achievements.
A good leader must at times be willing to make his hands dirty.  Otherwise he is just like my pet cat,"milky" who wants to eat fish but refuse to get its claws wet.
