This may not be good topic at this point in time but I find it hard to shun political issues even if just a short comment.
P Noy Sona: "No recociliation without justice", He said And his words seemed hard and unbending. There is no place for doubts in his victory at the May 2010 p0lls. It was a landslide victory in so far the fastest and cleanest election held in the Philippines.
His hard-sounding words, No recociliation without justice were believed to be intended to send shivers down the spine to those responsible for the sins of the previous administration, the corrupt and the power-hungry politicians who executed no just petty thievery but grand larceny attacks on govrnment coffers. But until this time all these seemed to remain hard-sounding words. Most visible and clear however are his victor's justice that in truth is punitive justice like the song, " the winner takes it all the losers standing small..:" These kind of justice are not truly fair, honest and substantive.
I am reminded of what US president Truman said a long time past,"speak softly and carry a big stick." Yet PNoy speaks hard and still carry a big stick, which brings to mind another old saying"keep your words soft and tender because tomorrow you may have to eat them." eeek.. there may be some truth because he seeking sort of reconciliation with the Hacienda Luisita farmersby now even without giving them redistributive justice they need and asked for decades.
Ok, its still a long way to go, 70 more months as of last count by his sisters. Too early to judge. Lets the spirit of God will guide him let alone his political party. # mel
