They say, so you are the jack of all trade? and the master of none.
Me? not really, maybe jack of almost all trade.
They say in our highly competative world today, the one with the special skill most of the time win and survived, earned more and become in demand, the man-of -the hour. Example, you would chose to send your car to the certified mechanic and not to the know-all-mechanic, your electric power problem at home you entrust only to licensed electician or electrical engineer and send your hypertensive father to hypertension specialist or cardiologist. All these specialty skills are paid high.Yet we knew they spent many years and much money in acquiring their skills. Its the money melanio! Everyone wants to be identified with their individual skills, lawyers, doctors, architects, ship masters, etc.. all because of high pay. But the generalists jack of all trade, who just seemed to know all but less trained who worked as hard but paid less.what a stark comparison!
Jack of all trade in the old days was a flattering phrase the so-called do-it-all-man. When the other phrase master of none was added the flattery was lost and the idiom itself became favorite subject of controversial debates.
To me the jack of almost all trade, I do not side with the specialists majority.
Horacio! it is unecessary and a lifelong stupidity. I do not like doing same thing everyday all my life. It is real boring which might cause unwanted depression and boredom that can complicate other ailments that no amount of money is enough to cure. I earned my college diploma in journalism but I worked as a salesman for 20 years. With my job I did and managed my own thing. I talked to many people everyday, there was no repetition. There were just as many skills I acquired as there were clients and customers. I enjoyed doing my work and when one enjoys he must be happy and happiness is true key to success. To the specialists I say get out of your self- inflicted ordeal, come out of your prison room and enjoy the wide playground outside where you can do many things. I tell you even with your special acquired skills knowing and doing many things are not impossible.
